"America's best businesses weren't built with an app.
But the ones that last another 50 years will run on one."
Fourteenth Street Advisory partners with the owners of established, founder-led businesses to modernize and strengthen what they've spent a lifetime building, so it runs stronger today and carries their name for generations to come.
Who We Are
We started this practice because we kept seeing the same thing: excellent businesses, built over decades by people who know their trade cold, quietly losing profit, momentum, and value simply because the way they operate never modernized alongside the world around them.
Jacob and Ali met in Washington DC, on the same street, from two different but deeply complementary worlds. Jacob spent years modernizing how large enterprises run and building companies of his own. Ali spent his career in strategy and M&A, learning exactly how businesses are valued, strengthened, bought, and sold. Together, we saw an opportunity few were addressing: bringing that pairing — operators who can build and advisors who understand value — to the businesses that are the real backbone of the American economy.
We're not a software company. We're not a digital agency. We work alongside owners like you to find what actually moves profit and long-term value, build it with your team, and make sure it lasts.
Talk to usHow We Work
We don't prescribe technology for its own sake. Every engagement begins with understanding the business deeply — how it makes money, how it runs, where value quietly leaks out — before we recommend a single change.
We get inside the business. How customers find you, how work gets scheduled and billed, where margin and time leak out. Then we show you exactly where the biggest gains in profit and value are hiding.
We do the work ourselves. Whether it's tightening operations, capturing more demand, or putting the right systems in place — we don't hand you a plan and a bill. We build it with your team, train your staff, and make sure it actually gets used.
Before we start anything, we agree on what success looks like in plain numbers: more profit, lower costs, more capacity, a more valuable business. We track those monthly and stay with you until the results show up on your bottom line.
What We Do
We make sure you show up first when local customers search, and that you look like the obvious choice when they do. For most owners, capturing the demand that's already out there is the fastest path to more revenue.
Fastest ROIWe put the right system in place to run jobs, customers, and your team from one place — scheduling, invoicing, history, reachable from any phone. Less friction, less time lost, fewer things falling through the cracks.
Operational leverageA fast, credible presence that turns visitors into calls and booked jobs, and fixes what's quietly costing you customers today. For many owners, this doubles inbound inquiries within 60 days.
Lead generationSystems that answer and capture customer inquiries around the clock. Most established service businesses quietly lose 30 to 40 percent of potential work simply because nobody picked up. That's revenue you've already earned.
Revenue recoveryWe build the habit of turning every happy customer into a public five-star review. Consistent reputation across Google and Yelp is the single most trusted signal for new customers choosing between you and a competitor.
Trust buildingA simple weekly picture of what's working: where revenue comes from, who's driving it, and what your close rate really is. The kind of visibility that lets you run the business — and makes it far easier to hand off or sell one day.
Owner intelligenceIndustries We Serve
The companies we work with share a common profile: long operational track records, loyal customer bases, and real untapped value. These are businesses that have survived every economic cycle. What they haven't done yet is modernize how they operate, compete, and capture the value they've built.
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning companies are the backbone of residential and commercial infrastructure. Recession-resistant, high-margin, and running on operations that haven't changed in decades.
Essential service businesses with recurring customer relationships and strong word-of-mouth, but limited ability to capture demand or run their operations at scale.
Established contractors with strong local reputations and decades of project history, often overlooked by the modern customer and held back by dated ways of working.
Landscaping, cleaning, pest control, and facility management companies with large recurring client bases and significant operational complexity that the right tools can simplify.
Law firms, accounting practices, insurance agencies and other established professional service businesses looking to modernize how they win, serve, and retain clients.
Brick-and-mortar retailers and regional distributors with strong product expertise and loyal customer bases who need a credible modern channel alongside the business they've built.
The Team
Jacob has spent over seven years modernizing how organizations operate, from global multinationals to fast-growing brands, improving the systems a business runs on, how it wins customers, and how efficiently it delivers.
Jacob began his career at NCS, one of Southeast Asia's largest technology firms, before moving into independent consulting. Since relocating to Washington, DC, he has focused on enterprise implementation work across the United States, leading systems and infrastructure modernization for established organizations working through aging, legacy technology.
Ali is a strategy and management consultant with a background advising organizations on corporate strategy, transformation, and growth. He most recently served as a Principal at Strategy&, PwC's global strategy consulting arm, leading engagements across multiple industries and geographies.
Earlier in his career, Ali held roles at Capgemini Invent and Hub One, giving him a broad view of how organizations, from telecoms to global consultancies, evaluate, transform, and grow the businesses they touch. He holds an engineering degree from Télécom Paris.
Results & Impact
Every engagement is benchmarked against outcomes we agree on before we begin — in profit, cost, capacity, and value. These are the kinds of results owners see.
